What's the gift rule in the office?

All this Christmas talk and budgeting is making me wonder about who to buy for in my office. Of course there's my boss, and his boss. The other 2 in my department are a given. But what about the others?

There's accounting, whom I deal with daily. There's production, which I deal with more than accounting. The receptionist, who is close to my age and I go out with on occasion. Sales, whose accounts I take care of. (some say it's their responsibility to buy a gift for me, not the other way around)


Now, in a perfect world I could afford gifts for everyone. That's just not possible. Does anyone have a suggestion here? I'm at a loss.
