Hi everybody!!
Hi Dr. Nick! (watch the Simpsons?)
How is everybody? Doing good? Great, glad to hear it!
This wedding stuff is finally coming together, and with just over 3 weeks to spare. Good, yes?
We're getting married on the 22nd of June at a little chapel, and then on the 23rd we're having a BIG ol party at my dad's house. His family, my family, all of our friends.... whooo boy it's going to be grand.
Oh, and I got the invitations FINALLY in the mail yesterday, only a week and a half late. Oh well... sue me. Well, really, don't. I'm broke. :)
So we're doing a small little ceremony, his mom and dad and two boys (they'll be his best men), and my dad and grandma. I think it's going to be great.
I'm so excited. Speaking of excited, you should have heard my granny on the phone last night when I was telling her about the wedding/ party. She knows this great little place in her town that has a great selection of disposable tableware, so we just have to go and look. Seriously, I couldn't burst her bubble, but I just can't get excited about paper plates. But whatever she wants... lol.
I still don't know what we're doing for the honeymoon. Maybe OKC, maybe the lake, maybe Six Flags. Who knows? I sure don't. Whatever we do I know we'll enjoy though.
Ok, I'm off to visit my bloggy buddies. XOXOX
So here's the plan
Here are all of the marriage details:
Ace and I are getting married on a Friday afternoon at the courthouse. Generic, yes. But honestly it was my choice to bypass the big ceremony and use the money for more practical things, like mortgage payments... lol
Saturday afternoon we're having a big party at my dad's house, and inviting friends and family for a big ol good time. I'm pretty excited about this part. It'll be the first time our extended families will be together, plus all of the friends, all celebrating him and I. Good times for sure.
Sunday we're dropping the doggies off at a boarding kennel, and he and I are heading to the lake for a few days. Here's where things are sketchy. We've thought about going to a cabin for 3 or 4 days, then coming back home, or going to a cabin for 1 or 2 days, and then to Texas to Six Flags for a day or two. Either plan sounds like a blast to me, but because of high gas prices I think we'd be better off doing plan #1, just going somewhere and staying put.
I don't know what to do about the whole gift registry thing. People have been asking already where we're registered, and since we've already lived together for years, we have all we need. Plus, we're getting married because we love each other, not because we want presents. I guess if people want to give us something, they can pick out what THEY want us to have, and if not, I'm totally fine with that too. We already have a house full of stuff.
So those are the details. Right now I'm just compiling addresses to I can get all of this stuff in the mail, and will have to pay the new HIGHER postage to get it all out, otherwise most people won't have details of the par-tay.
In case anyone is still reading...
June 22nd is the big day....
So scary, and yet so very cool all at the same time. I'm going to be Mrs. Manders (new last name)
Holy shiat!!!
Oh, and my Boomer has a UTI. Poor baby is peeing blood. :(
